Route description

Ljutomer, the center of the landscape between Ljutomer vineyards and Mura field has a nickname »The Unicorc city« because of the image in its municipal coat of arms. Visit the charming Main Square with the town hall and the sign of Mary. The city is also known for the Grossmann festival of fantastic film and wine, which takes place in Ljutomer every year at the end of July.

Enjoy the picturesque surroundings when cycling across the wine-growing area between Ljutomer and Ormož, which is also full of healing energetic spots. Steep hills of Jeruzalem are perfect for experienced cyclists, who will be able to enjoy the magnificent view from the top. The baroque church of Saint Mary hides the image of Sad Mother of God from Jerusalem, which portrays the name of this place. Some of the famous names like Christopher Lee have enjoyed in eating the apple strudel and drinking local wines like šipon and champagne Brutus in the Mansion of Jeruzalem.

Discover the views, which were enjoyed by the templars a long time ago. The Jeruzalem route has almost 300 meters of height difference, which will present a challenge even for experienced cyclists.

The tour takes place along this route: Ljutomer – Jeruzalem – Vinski Vrh – Miklavž pri Ormožu – Zasavci – Lačaves – Gomila pri Kogu – Stročja Vas - Ljutomer.
