The world record route

Route description
Jure Robič, ultra-cyclist and multiple Race Across America winner that is sadly not with us anymore, broke a 24-hour chronometer world record on this trail in 2004. In a circular cycling route without any rest, he overcame 840 kilometres with the average speed of 35 km/h! Your cycling will also be an adventure, since you’ll have a chance to look at the local sights worth visiting. Before you hit the road, visit the tourist information centre Moravske Toplice – the cycling info spot, where you’ll get all the information you need. In Moravske Toplice, you can firstly dip into one of the local pools or take a look at the Evangelical church that is located in the centre of the village.
The route will take you through seven villages, here is a brief description:
The drive across the flat landscape towards the typical Panonnian village Tešanovci, where you’ll get a chance to rest by one of the wooden wells – “čigi”.
You will continue your journey to the local chocolate shop in the centre of the village.
After that, you drive to Bogojina and the “White Dove” church by Jože Plečnik that stands at the end of the trail. You’ll be able to inspect this magnificent creation closely or enjoy in local delicacies on one of the tourist farms.
You will climb to the wooden observation tower and enjoy the view over the beautiful scenery.
You will continue your way through Ivanci and pass the gravel pit, where you’ll get a chance to rest for a little bit.
You will continue your way to the Mlajtinci village, followed by the Noršinci village.
A short break will also be possible at the Saint Martin’s Church in Martjanci, where you will be able to closely inspect the murals made by Janez Akvila.
The road back to Moravske Toplice will be possible on the bicycle path.
This route takes place across the flat landscape and is suitable for casual cyclists.
The tour takes place along this route: Moravske Toplice – Tešanovci – Bogojina – Ivanci – Mlajtinci – Noršinci – Martjanci – Moravske Toplice
