Route description

The wild garlic route is approximately 23 kilometres long and is an ideal option for families and relaxed Sunday cycling trips. The road takes you through the flat part of the Apače Valley, which makes the ride even more pleasant. In some cases, this route crosses the main road, you’ll have to be extremely careful when crossing it. The second part of the route avoids the main road and takes you to the southern part of the municipality. The gravel road usually goes through fields and meadows, which makes the cycling even more enjoyable.

The wild garlic route starts in Zgornje Konjišče by the Mura River and continues towards Spodnje Konjišče over the meadows and small forests in the middle of the fields.

After about five kilometres, follow the sharp turns towards the Mura River and you’ll arrive to the cycling-hiking bridge in Črnci. There, you will get a chance to regain your energy and listen to the sounds of the Mura River. You will then continue our way towards Apače, the centre of the municipality with a lot of interesting sights that you simply cannot miss. From here, you’ll turn back towards Črnci.

You’ll then arrive to the flat Mahovci village at the south-west end and the Žepovci village on the west side, where you’ll get a chance to take a short break and admire the famous monument from 1609.

The road continues through villages Žiberci, Drobtinci and Stogovci. Even though the road is not hard, you’ll be a little bit tired and very satisfied. After returning to the Podgorje village, you get a chance to look at the monument with the Saint Paul’s statue from 1682 and a plague sign from the same year.

The wild garlic route ends in Zgornje Konjišče.
